Men Don't Expect Perfection

It may come as a relief to women to know that men don’t expect perfection. They may like a nice smile, a woman who looks friendly and who takes care of herself, but they don’t expect a woman to be a six foot tall supermodel with long blond hair and a stunning figure (well, they might dream about it occasionally!).

Men prefer a friendly, warm woman who listens to them and wants to have fun. If she’s self confident as well, that’s a bonus. They’d also like someone to take care of them when needed. But at the same time, most men would like the woman to be an equal partner in the relationship.

You see, despite all the Mars v Venus theories, deep down men seem to want the same kind of things that women do. Someone who loves and respects them, someone to have fun with and someone to take care of them.

That doesn’t mean that men won’t return the favor. They want a woman that they can love and respect, someone they can just hang out and have fun with as well as taking care of them in return.

That’s why men don’t expect perfection.

A man would rather be with a real woman than a Stepford wife kind of person who is too terrified to have any fun at all in case it would mess up her hair or chip a freshly painted fingernail.

A man would prefer a real, honest woman to a fake Barbie doll who just sits there and looks pretty. Realistically, a woman who just sits there and looks pretty may be appealing to a man in the short term, but when he realises that’s all she ever does, the glamour will soon start to fade and he’ll start looking for a woman who knows the real secret to capturing and keeping a man's heart.

Another reason men don’t expect perfection is because they realise that they’re not perfect either. They’re realistic about the fact that they’re not perfect; that they might have a bit of a beer gut or that their hair is slowly receding. But that doesn’t stop them from looking for love.

So the next time you’re out in the singles scene, remember that men aren’t perfect and don’t expect perfection either. That may make it a little easier for you, knowing that the guys you meet don’t expect you to be a tall supermodel with a killer figure. But they would like you to be a real person with a friendly smile.
